The Tips You Need to Keep Your Child’s Smile in Top-Notch Condition
If you want your child to have a strong and successful oral health, there are things you need to do on a regular basis to reach that goal. However, it’s not as tough as it seems. All you need to do is:
Properly clean the smile
It’s best to brush your child’s teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled toothbrush. If they are under 3 years old, brush their smile with a grain-sized amount of toothpaste. If they are between the ages of 3 and 6, brush their smile with a pea-sized amount of toothpaste. When they have two teeth grow in next to each other, please start flossing.
Bring your child into the office
When your child’s first tooth grows into place, bring them into our office for their first dental appointment. This first appointment will involve the dentist examining the smile and giving you the tips you need to properly care for your child’s teeth. This is also a great time for you to ask questions.
Take advantage of fluoride
Fluoride is the most beneficial mineral in the world today. It can strengthen and nourish teeth as well as prevent tooth decay. So, please use fluoride toothpaste when you brush your child’s smile and take advantage of our fluoride treatment when you bring your child into our office for a cleaning and checkup.
Avoid dental issues
Whether you believe it or not, children are prone to dental issues as well, especially if you fill their bottle with sugary drinks and dip their binky in honey or sugar. So, please avoid dental issues at all costs by refraining to expose your child to sugary products.
